Lillah

Understanding

What is Lillah?

Lillah literally means 'for Allah' — a donation given purely for His pleasure, with no restriction on who may benefit. Because it is not Zakat, Lillah funds can be used broadly to support institutions like our masjid, madrasa and welfare programmes.

Lillah is the most flexible form of giving in Islam. It can fund construction, teacher salaries, utility bills, books, transport for students and any other operational need that keeps a charitable institution running.

Every Lillah contribution to our trust helps sustain the day-to-day work of Islamic education and community welfare. Donors are welcome to specify the project — masjid, maktab, madrasa or general fund — or leave it to our trustees' discretion.
