Zakat

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam — an obligatory annual contribution of 2.5% on qualifying wealth, paid by every Muslim whose savings exceed the nisab. It purifies wealth, cleanses the heart of attachment, and secures the rights of the poor within our own possessions.

The Qur'an mentions Zakat alongside Salah more than eighty times. It is not charity in the ordinary sense — it is a due right the wealthy owe to eight specific categories of eligible recipients defined by Allah in Surah At-Tawbah (9:60), including the poor, needy, and those in debt.

Your Zakat contributions to our trust are distributed strictly to Shariah-compliant recipients — orphaned students in our madrasa, widowed mothers, families in medical crisis and other eligible individuals. Every rupee is accounted for and audited annually.
